What we collect

- Contact form. Our form runs entirely in your browser. It does not transmit data to us; it only prepares text you choose to send by email.
- Technical data. Our hosting provider may record standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, time) for security and reliability.
- Preferences. Your consent choices may be stored on your device, as explained in our cookie policy.
Why and on what basis
We reply to your enquiries on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering readers, and keep server logs on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure website. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
How long we keep it
Correspondence is kept for up to 24 months, then deleted unless needed for a continuing conversation. Server logs are kept for no more than 30 days.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who host our site and email, under contracts requiring appropriate protection, or where required by law. Where data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on recognised safeguards.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or a copy of your data, and object to processing. Email us to exercise these rights. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
